The explosion took place in Altamira, a neighborhood of the Chacao municipality of Caracas.

Footage of the explosion shows at least two motorcyclists thrown in the air from the impact of the blast.

This latest attack comes a day after campaigning for the National Constituent Assembly opened across Venezuela.

While President Nicolas Maduro called for the National Constituent Assembly in an effort to ease the mounting tensions between opposition and government forces, right-wing violence has continued to paralyze the country.

At least 94 people have died since opposition-led protests aimed at toppling the government began in early April.
