John Kiriakou, a former CIA officer and whistleblower, was one of the first government officials to reveal the U.S. torture of detainees and prisoners.

Kiriakou is an associate fellow with the Institute for Policy Studies and a contributor for the Huffington Post. He appears in the 2014 documentary "Silenced," a film about three National Security Agency whistleblowers who fight to reveal dark and illegal secrets regarding the United States' pseudo "War on Terror."
