"Venezuela is a building in New York, which can blackmail the owners of the building for sale, but Venezuela is not United States real estate," Maduro said, adding: "The people of the United States are with the Venezuelan people."

He also said that his nation is ready to send medical aid along with relief workers to the island of Dominica after it was hit by Hurricane Maria.

Maduro then assured Mexico that Venezuela is preparing to provide the necessary assistance in the aftermath of its 7.1 earthquake, adding that countries must be united in times of difficulties.

He said, "Climate change provokes the hurricane season, three hurricanes in the Caribbean, for the first time in history. Fidel Castro said if the world didn't change there was one species in danger of extinction" (ie. the human species)."

Maduro emphasized that climate change is more important "than any puff of hatred and war that has launched Trump at the U.N."

The President spoke about Venezuela's relations with countries like China, which he described as the first world power, "China does not seek a relationship of subordination," said Maduro who called for resistance to defend the sovereignty of the South American country and the peoples of Latin America.

The Venezuelan president then invited the US president to discuss socialism in the 21st century.
