"The great confidence that the great and strong people of Venezuela granted him (Maduro) demonstrates once again his attachment to the interests and aspirations of the people, freedom, justice, and independence," the organization wrote in a letter addressed to the Venezuelan Head of State.

It went on to note that their political party and the Palestinian people express joy in the gains made by the Venezuelan people and that they will “never forget” the Bolivarian Revolutionary Government's “valiant principles” during difficult times in their support of Palestine.

Maduro took an oath that he would fulfill his duties to the Venezuelan constitution and carry out changes for peace and prosperity of the South American country after winning the presidential election on May 20. Maduro obtained 68 percent of the votes cast or 6,190,612 votes, while his closest opponent, former governor Henri Falcon, received 1,917,036 votes.

The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the National Constituent Assembly, or ANC, where its president Delcy Rodriguez approved a decree ratifying that Maduro had been re-elected and would assume his new mandate on Jan 10.

After taking the oath, President Maduro addressed the crowd at the ANC where he thanked and welcomed all of those attending and the Venezuelan people for trusting him to lead the nation for another term.

"We can now acknowledge the full success of Venezuelan elections. We have seen every candidate appointed in a just election, come here to pay tribute to the National Constituent Assembly," the president said after taking the oath.
