The announcement was made by the artistic director of the event and member of the artist's network UNiTE, Eme Alfonso, who is in charge of promoting actions in favor of gender equality.

Festival participants were invited to wear something orange Saturday in support of no violence against women and girls.

UNiTE is a campaign promoted by the United Nations with the objective of ending gender violence and raising awareness about the issue, that is why it declared the 25th of each month Orange Day.

The event Saturday will begin at 6: 00 a.m., local time and will feature La Flota, which will perform on the main stage of the Metropolitano-Almendares park.

The HWM began Thursday and will culminate on Sunday, with more than 100 invited guests coming from 15 countries. This year, 2017 marks the fourth edition, with artists from Haiti, Norway, Colombia, Algeria, Mexico, Bulgaria, Romania and local participants.

In addition to the concerts, there will also be exhibitions, workshops and conferences, with the aim of discussing current trends in world music.
