The young participants gathered to tender their requests – which were to be submitted to candidate Nidia Diaz – to the party. The suggestions will span the areas of education, health, sports and culture.
Felipe, a high school student, explained that the discussion of free university education piqued his interest in the party, according to a Diario Co Latino report.
The FMLN hopes to win 40 seats. It currently holds 21 in the legislature.
“We need to continue advancing, and that is achieved with more deputies in the Legislative Assembly, to bring social projects to the population,” Diaz said.
More than 5 million citizens are expected to vote on March 4, according to the official register of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal.

In January, the National Secretariat of Youth of El Salvador declared their support for FMLN’s 2019 presidential candidate, Gerson Martinez.
The leader of the youth group, Charlin Zuniga, said 14 departmental secretaries of the organization had endorsed the decision.
The organization expressed that Martinez demonstrates the capacity, transparency and bravery to lead the country, as well as to continue the transformations initiated by FMLN chief, President Salvador Sanchez Ceren.
