The win pushed Lopez' tally to 2 Oscars, 2 Emmys, 3 Grammys and 3 Tonys.

Songwriter Robert Lopez became the first person to achieve double EGOT at the 90th Academy Awards for “Coco” fan-favorite “Remember Me.”

EGOT is an acronym which refers to anyone who has won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. Lopez, who is the son of Filipino immigrants, is the youngest to have achieved all four and now the only person to have done it twice. Lopez dedicated the win to his late mother.

At Sunday's ceremony, the songwriter and his writing-partner wife took home the Oscar for best original song. The trophy pushed his tally to 2 Oscars, 2 Emmys, 3 Grammys and 3 Tonys – which places him halfway to achieving an unprecedented triple EGOT.

“We knew we wanted to write one version that was big and uptempo and had a mariachi feel – they call it ranchero songs,” Lopez said of the winning collaboration with his wife.

“We did our best to get that sort of feel.”

"Remember Me" beat out Mary J. Blige’s “Mighty River” from “Mudbound”, Common and Diane Warren’s “Stand Up for Something” from “Marshall”, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul’s “This Is Me” from “The Greatest Showman” and Sufjan Stevens’ “Mystery of Love” from “Call Me by Your Name.”

The track from Mexico's Dia de los Muertos-inspired film has propelled Lopez into a class all by himself.

Lopez earned his first Oscar – to complete his first EGOT – just four years ago, for another anthemic song, “Let It Go” from Disney's “Frozen.” The 40-something Yale graduate was also the fastest to complete EGOT status, achieving all four accolades in a decade.

Lopez was recently lauded by “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda for “opening professional doors for him.” Miranda is currently an Oscar shy of also becoming an EGOT.

The elite EGOT club only has 12 members to date, including current “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg and Puerto Rican icon Rita Moreno.
