Bolivia VP Details Country's Progress at Gas Exporters' Summit

"We are a country that has created the social, political, technical, economic and emotional conditions to be a first-class partner for any investor," he said.

Bolivia is a prime location with the outstanding energy potential of up to 60 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, Bolivian Vice President said Wednesday at the IV Summit of Countries Exporting Gas (FPEG).

“Currently, Bolivia exports 30 million cubic meters of gas to Brazil and around 20 million cubic meters to Argentina," Vice President Alvaro Garcia told his international audience and the world’s leading oil exporters in the world.

Not only is the real estate some of the best in Latin America, Garcia said, the country is also environmentally responsible with a set of its own laws to ensure the natural resources are well protected.

"In other words, we are a country that has created the social, political, technical, economic and emotional conditions to be a first-class partner for any investor," he said.

Additionally, the country has made an effort to export electric power as well as explore other alternative sources of energy.

"Bolivia is a reliable, timely, strategic partner for companies and is a secure partner and with this firmness of what we are, we are very pleased that they are here with us sharing their experiences, their initiatives, and recommendations," he said.

"That is why today, in these days that we are working, what we do is show what we are, show the guarantee we offer, we are the fastest growing economy in the continent and we will continue to be the fastest growing economy in the continent the next decade,” Garcia added.

Among the international participants attending the Gas Summit in Santa Cruz de la Sierra were Brazil’s Petrobras, Russian Grazprom, Argentina’s YPF and Pluspetrol, Spain’s Repsol, Britain’s Shell, French Total as well as representatives from Pan American Energy, Tecpetrol and Vintage Petroleum.
