Peru's Congress has formally accepted the resignation of Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (PPK), paving the way for First Vice-President Martin Vizcarra to be sworn in as the new president at an inauguration ceremony in Lima.

Vizcarra was trained as a civil engineer, graduating from the National University of Engineering. He was born and raised in Moquegua and first made the move to politics in 2011 as regional governor.
