Women from different feminist organizations marched from the attorney general's office to the seat of the National Constituent Assembly to deliver a document to the assembly pushing for the protection of women against gender-based and economic violence.
The protesters demanded a socioeconomic model based on feminism, and rejected the right-wing led economic war attempting to destabilize the South American country at the behest of "imperialism."
"Terrorist speculation, we insist, is not an economic phenomenon, it is part of a plan propelled by imperialism, but orchestrated by the oligarchy, where large capitalists are financing a crime operation against our people, against the Venezuelan family," said Blanca Eekhout, the Minister of the People’s Power for Women and Gender Equality, during a press conference Tuesday.
